Q:  What is an Assisted Living?

A:   A  combination of housing, personalized supportive services and health care designed to meet the needs both the scheduled and unscheduled, assistance of daily living such as bathing, dressing, eating and  medication administration.


Q:  Who lives in an Assisted Living Communities?

A:   An older adult is the typical resident who can no longer manage at home and needs assistance of daily living.


Q:  Is assisted living covered by MEDICARE?

A:  Medicare does not cover Assisted Living specifically, but will pay the medical coverage of residents such as doctors visit, qualifying hospital stays and therapies.


Q:  How is the bill paid?

A:  Residents or families generally pay the cost of assisted living from their own financial resources.  Some types of health insurance or long term care insurance my reimburse for all or a portion of the assisted living cost.


Q:  How is the cost determined?

A:  The cost of Assisted Living is based on the level of care.  GY&M  has 5 levels of care based on the UAI (Uniform Assessment Instrument)  and assessment is done by a nurse prior to every admission.



Q:  Do you accept MEDICAID?

A:  GY&M is a private pay. Our fee schedule is very competitive.
